Montenegro CIP Finally Picks Official Due Diligence ProvidersMay 13, 2019
After rejecting all 13 companies that applied to become the Montenegro CIP’s official provider of due diligence services in March this year, the government’s Secretariat for Special Projects has announced that it received 11 correctly filed applications by the April 1st deadline, from which it has selected two companies, one based in Canada, the other in the UK.
The statement on the Secretariat’s website reads:
At the Public Invitation for the Assessment of International Eligibility, 11 timely applications were submitted, submitted by the following applicants:
1. REFINITIV LIMITED, UK
2. BISHOPS SERVICES LLC, USA
3. PKF Savvides & Co. Limited, Cyprus
4. Harod Assocciates Limited, UK
5. S-RM Intelligence and Risk Consulting LTD, UK
6. ARTEMON DOO, MONTENEGRO
7. BDO USA LLP, USA
8. CORPORATE RESOLUTIONS INC, USA
9. MICUNOVIC AND PARTNERS OAD, MONTENEGRO
10. EXIGER CANADA INC, CANADA
11. GLOBAL SOURCE CONSULTING, CYPRUS
Based on Section 1.2. Amending the Public Invitation, the opening of the submitted applications took place on April 8, 2019, at the premises of the Secretariat.
By reviewing the submitted applications, the Secretariat for Development Projects assessed that applications that met the requirements of that Decision and the Public Invitation were received from the following applicants:
– S-RM Intelligence and Risk Consulting LTD, UK
– EXIGER CANADA INC, CANADA
Worth noting is that the Secretariat chose not to appoint BDO and Bishops, both of which are international due diligence heavyweights, as well as the absence of a bid from Thomson Reuters.
Exiger’s successful bid is, perhaps, less surprising, considering it has the world’s only due diligence division dedicated exclusively to investment migration – the Immigration, Citizenship, and Visa (ICV) Due Diligence Practice.
