BREAKING: Moldova Citizenship Program Temporarily Suspended, Says President DodonJuly 18, 2019
Following a meeting of Moldova’s Supreme Security Council in Chișinău today, President Igor Dodon informed local press that the government has suspended the country’s recently opened citizenship by investment program pending a review. A Romanian language video of the press conference is available in both Privesc and Cotidianul.
“There are questions about the companies that are involved in this program. Until we do not clear up, we’re suspending the program,” said Dodon, according to Cotidianul.
Several local sources with whom IMI has been in touch have confirmed the suspension. Very little additional information is available at this time, but IMI will be back with more coverage as the story develops.
